Apple’s Digital Car Key already rolling out to BMW cars from 1 July

No sooner was digital car keys announced at WWDC last week has BMW announced that ‌BMW iPhone‌ users will have “broad availability” across over a dozen models and dozens of countries, although it appears it will only be available in newly manufactured cars starting July 1.

BMW has had a very fruitful relationship with Apple for a while and has always been one of the early adopters in integrating the the Cupertino giant’s tech. It was one of the first car brands to integrate the iPod and also one of the first to support Apple CarPlay. So it’s no surprise that BMW would one of the early adopters to integrate the Apple’s digital car key. But pretty amazing that the Bavarian car maker is so far ahead of the pack with these.
