Rumours of new Android TV device codenamed “Sabrina” including updated interface

Sabrina Android TV

Mobile news site XDA Developers have shared leaks and rumours of a new addition to the Android TV lineup codenamed “Sabrina”.

Looking quite similar to Google’s Chromecast devices the Sabrina devices differentiate themselves by apparently being controlled via a dedicated remote whereas Chromecast is controlled via a smartphone, tablet or voice (via Google Home) . The concept photos also looks like they come available in a variety of different colours.

Along with the new devices a new update to Android TV looks to be in the works. Looking more like a DVR/ home theatre experience it looks to be integrated with YouTube TV and, of course, with Google Assistant.

Does this spell the end of the less-feature packed Chromecast? We’ll have to wait and see
